Hi folks,
for quite a while I did not keep you updated about our well-being.
Be assured that we are fine. We are in Zanzibar now for almost two weeks and time is flying by so fast.
We still cannot believe it but we did it….we moved. This was a bit of stress I can assure you. How our last 2 months in Germany have been I will explain to you now.
Mustafa was working at Spreewiesn in Berlin Ostbahnhof, the Berlin way of Oktoberfest, for that extra cash we will need to start our new lives. Tough job I can tell you . 6 days a week he was serving people with Maas, Leberkäs and Bretz’n. While he was handling the drunk partypeople in Tracht (see picture) I was selling all our furniture and stuff and I also helped my mom in her Berlin Pub – Neuköllner Gasthaus.
Until one day before we departed I was handling people who were interested in our furniture on Ebay Kleinanzeigen and Facebook Marketplace. But it all ended well.
We finally packed our 2 backpacks and 2 suitcases and realized that those things were all we still owned…Sounds frightening? No, it is a great feeling to get rid of stuff you do not need.
After our first week on the island Zanzibar (Unguja) I think that we even do not need all the things we brought.
It is great that we took the decision to move although we miss our dear friends and our family. Good thing is that they will visit soon.
